CREATING AN "IMPRESSION"
July 7-11, 2008
Jay Dampf
It is no wonder that Impressionism is one of the most loved painting styles. Its goal is to capture the feel and emotional impact of the subject portrayed rather than just creating a literal depiction of it. Brush strokes alone are to be admired for there are a surprising variety of techniques. In this course, every level of painter will learn how to free up their hand and mind towards a more exuberant and forgiving style of painting. This is an excellent opportunity for absolute beginners as instruction is easygoing and highly individual. You may choose to work in the studio or just outside where there are plenty of beautiful subjects to inspire you. Oils or acrylics are the recommended media. The instructor will be delighted to advise in individual preparation so that your week is as rewarding as it can be for you.
