[Millikin University/International Global Studies Program]
June 20-24 , 2011
Gerry Cloud
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about illustration in one of the most beautiful places in the world! This illustration course will include a survey of traditional approaches to solving communication problems for real world projects through various media including graphite, pen & ink, pastel and watercolour. Students will also investigate the realities of finding a creative illustration niche for students in a heavily multidisciplinary contemporary society. Our investigation will include critical analysis of current trends for illustration in the design world such as animation, product packaging and design, web-based zines, and both digital and traditional book illustration. Students will learn specific techniques via demonstration and hands-on experimentation based on pre-assigned illustration project directives.
