Local and national artists, craftspeople, writers, musicians, actors, radio / television personalities, politicians have been "getting creative" with 6" x 8" pieces of stretched canvas. We have works of art from wildlife artist Robert Bateman, CTV meteroligist Cindy Day, comedian Lorne Elliott, CBC radio host Jian Ghomeshi and CTV personality Seamus O'Regan. We also have incredible creations from William Forrestall, Ann Manuel, Geoff Slater and more.
Here’s the kicker: Names of the "creators" are on the backs of each work of art...
Mysterious, right?
Now, comes the fun part...
We are hanging the works of art and putting the same price tag ($90.00) on each one. (Remember, these works of art are worth at least $100.00 and in some cases have a value of more than $5000.00!)
For $10.00, you can purchase a ticket which gives you entrance to the Guess Who event featuring live music, finger food and wine. Your ticket also gives you a chance at being chosen to purchase one of these mysterious works of art.
When we open the doors, you, as a ticket holder, will be assigned a number. Throughout the evening, numbers will be drawn randomly from a bucket. When your number is drawn, you will be able to choose the artwork you wish to purchase at a price of $90.00.
Once everyone has purchased a painting, then (and only then) may you look at the back to see who you "bought"!
When/Where does it happen?: Saturday October 2, 2010 at 7:30pm - (Preview at 7:00pm) at the
WC O'NEILL ARENA in St. Andrews.
Why should I bother?:
1) You will be able to buy a wonderful, original work of art for less than $100.00! Remember, these works of art are worth at least $100.00 and in some cases have a value of more than $5000.00!
2) You will be helping Sunbury Shores continue to offer free art education to students in Charlotte County, through the CLASS Program [click here to read more about this program].
3) It will be fun, we promise :)
OK - It Sounds Great ... Now What?:
Tickets are $10.00 (On sale September 1st, 2010)
Works of Art are $90.00
Tickets to the event of the year are just $10.00 each. When your number is drawn, you will have a choice to purchase a work of art for an additional $90.00. That means, you could walk out of the event with an original work of art for just $100.00!
Where can I get a ticket?:
Tickets are available (beginning September 1st) at Sunbury Shores Arts & Nature Centre - 139 Water Street, St. Andrews, NB E5B 1A7.
