Print by Mabel PRINT YOUR FAVOURITE TREASURES - for Youth
Instructor: Mabel Ketcham
Dates/Times: Saturdays, March 29th - April 19th; 12pm
Fees: $60 (+HST) Members, $70 (+HST) Non Members

Create print(s) of your favourite object(s) by first applying paper shapes to plexiglass, colouring them with pencils and crayons, and then printing them on the press. Mabel explains printmaking techniques for making monotypes and two-dimensional embosses. Have fun while focusing on the versatility and spontaneity of this medium as you develop your images. Bring photographs of the item(s) you want to create, or bring the real thing. Mabel is an experienced instructor in a number of art mediums.

Pottery by Chantal BEGINNER AND INTERMEDIATE POTTERY
Instructor: Chantal Vincent
Dates/Times: Tuesdays, April 1st - May 6th; 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Fees: $95 (+ HST) Members, $120 (+ HST) Non Members - Plus Materials and Firings.

Chantal brings a new perspective to this class with emphasis on hand sculpting as well as the wheel. She will also 'fire' your imagination as you learn an imaginative variety of painting, glazing and decorative skills. Individual guidance in a small class means you will be able to maximize your learning experience whatever your level. Chantal, a graduate of McGill University, is the owner of Nan's Land Gallery in St. Andrews.

Stained Glass STAINED GLASS
Instructor: Ruth Dunfield
Dates/Times: Thursdays, April 3rd - May 1st; 6:30pm - 9:00pm
Fees: $95 (+HST) Members; $120 (+HST) Non Members

The magic of stained glass and the ease of learning this classic art has led to our being asked to offer the course again this Spring. Both absolute beginners and the more experienced are welcome to develop their skills and imagination. Ruth offers wonderful glass and lots of patterns to choose from. Please bring safety glasses, lightweight gloves and a small glasscutter. Ruth's 20 years’ experience as a glass artist ensures your experience will be both productive and fun. Materials will be purchased directly from the instructor ($15 per person).

Pottery by Helen CREATE WITH CLAY - Pottery for Youth
Instructor: Helen Stanley

By popular request! An opportunity to practice the clay skills you have experienced while taking school art classes at Sunbury Shores and learn a lot more while you create and decorate 3 small pottery masterpieces to take home. The class will be taught in our professional pottery studio, so wear 'dirty' clothes and prepare to have fun. Helen is an experienced instructor and a potter for over 30 years who also owns her own business, Salt Glaze Pottery, in Seeley’s Cove.

GEOCACHING WORKSHOP
Instructors: Kelly Anne Loughery and Adrian MacDonald
Dates/Times: Saturday May 24th; 9:00am - 4:30pm
Fees: $75 (+HST)

Kelly Anne will start the morning with a brief history of geocaching and how it has evolved, the bare essentials, etiquette, how to assemble and place a cache, and the main website for this sport, geocaching.com. Adrian will then provide an overview of basic GPS technology, the how and why "it" works, what the coordinate numbers represent, and how to navigate in the outdoors with YOUR personal GPS. He will also include basic map and GPS interpretation in order to understand where you are and how to best arrive at your destination. In the afternoon, you will head out on a local trail to find a cache using your GPS System. If you have your own GPS unit, please bring it.

Appropriate footwear and clothing and bringing your own lunch are recommended.

Kelly Anne, originally from California, now lives on the Kingston Peninsula, NB. She is involved in local heritage projects and regional lighthouse preservation and has been geocaching since 2001. Kelly Anne is one of the 3 most experienced geocachers in New Brunswick. Adrian is a Training Officer with Charlotte County Ground Search and Rescue of which he has been a volunteer member for 16 years. He has a certificate in GPS from the GreenCheck Ecology Center and has trained in the M.L.P.I. (Managing the Lost Person Incident) with the RCMP at "J" Division headquarters in Fredericton. He is involved with about 5 local searches per year and is finding that GPS technology is becoming evermore embraced as a necessary tool for rescue efficiency worldwide.
