WATERCOLOURS
EMPHASIZING ARCHITECTURE AND BUILDING DESIGN

July 14-18, 2008
Bonnie Steinberg, CSPWC, SCA, TWS
Have you been yearning to paint architecture in transparent watercolor? Then this is the class for you! In this all-levels course and under Bonnie's experienced eye, you will focus on the specific architecture of this amazing area. As Bonnie is noted for her use of high-keyed colour and dramatic lighting, these two elements will receive particular attention and St. Andrew's unique architecture dating to the Loyalist era will be our major focus. You will learn how to paint architectural details, e.g., shingles, weathered wood, brick and stone, in New Brunswick’s particular light and colour. This area's landscape, complete with the fog, rain, and brilliant sunlight will be used to integrate these elements. You will learn colour mixing, characteristics and properties, techniques for application, and how to create mood to produce a dynamic, vibrant painting. Bonnie’s hands-on approach, with a strong emphasis on individual assistance, will be sure to inspire and please. The result…luminous paintings!
