INTRODUCTION TO SCULPTURE with Richard Klyver
Tuesdays, January 26th March 2nd (6 weeks)
Time: 6:30pm 9:00pm

Material Kit: $20 from instructor.
This course will teach students the dynamics of figurative sculpture, animation, motion and rhythms, through lecture, demonstration and the hands on use of wax and clay. You will also be introduced to the various steps necessary to casting a piece in bronze. Max 8 students.
Richard Klyver is recognized as a leading expert in mold making and bronze pouring. This knowledge and skill enables him to cast everything from the miniature of a live Dragonfly to the mass of a one ton dinosaur skull.

PORTRAITURE with Sheryl Crighton

Become inspired as Sheryl takes you through the study of portraiture from profile to full view. During this six-week course, working from photos supplied by the instructor, you will learn the facets of creating a portrait, by first sketching the basics with charcoal on newsprint and graduating to using acrylics on canvas board and stretched canvas. Max 8 students.

During this 6 week course, accomplished potter and artist Helen Stanley will walk students through the creation of creative clay birdfeeders. What fun! Max 8 students.
Helen Stanley is an accomplished artist and potter. She has always enjoyed handbuilding as well as throwing functional pots. Recently though, she has returned to her first love and created some garden sculptures which have become a very vital part of what she does.

MONOTYPE PRINTING with Mabel Ketcham

Experience this unique method of printmaking, by painting a
watercolour images onto a plexiglass plate to create one of a kind prints.
Max 6 students.
Mabel Ketcham is a St. Andrews artist specializing in watercolour and monotype printing. She is also the education coordinator at Sunbury Shores.

Learn the basic techniques of this intriguing art form, or continue with what you have learned in previous courses. You will have the opportunity to make one or more stained glass pieces to display in your window. Max 8 students.
Ruth Dunfield is an accomplished artisan and musician with many years of experience in the world of stained glass. She is also the general manager at Sunbury Shroes. Her warmth and calm approach to teaching will inspire you.

On Saturday, the "Wizard of Felt" will teach you the basics of wet felt: rolling, flat and pocket felting. On Sunday use the skills acquired on Saturday to create a magnificent felt landscape. Max 8 students.
June Cable is a fibre artist and instructor with a passion for felt and recycling. June felts with raw materials, commercial materials and recycled materials and her exuberance and magnetic personality will inspire and delight you.

Join our master printmaker as he demonstrates the use of non-toxic methods for producing prints from copper plates. During this two-day workshop, you will find out just how addictive and exciting printmaking can be. Max 6 students.
Robert Van de Peer, a Master Printmaker trained in England, has over thirty years experience in printmaking. He was a professor of printmaking at St. Lawrence College of Applied Arts and Technology in Kingston Ontario for 25 years and has been Master Printer in Residence at Sunbury Shores since 1998.

Do you find working with pastels daunting? Let local artist Anne Johnston dispel those fears as she shows students various pastel techniques with which to create amazing art. Max 8 students.
Anne Johnston has been painting the southwestern New Brunswick and northern Maine landscapes in watercolours for more than 20 years. She learned the basics of painting at the School of Art and Design in Montreal and at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.
